She's currently on our screens on ITV's Good Morning Britain and in The Celebrity Traitors as a faithful, and Kate Garraway said the show gave her some much-needed time to consider her future. The 58-year-old lost her husband, Derek Draper, in January 2024. The TV presenter said taking on the BBC reality show was a positive in more ways than one for her. She said it gave her the headspace to think about the next chapter in her life after Derek's death. He died after battling Covid-19 and suffering serious health issues in the years after. Kate, who is mum to Darcey, 19, and 16-year-old Billie, said the lack of access to her phone, live TV, and the internet allowed her to 'take stock' of the last few years. She told Prima : "The process was fun, intense and eye-opening. It was a rollercoaster. It was also a wonderful time to do some thinking of my own. “No phones, access to the internet, or live TV were allowed, and my wonderful sister-in-law was with the kids. So I could distract myself from the worries of the past few years and immerse myself in game play but also take stock and let my mind wander and dream about the next chapter of my life.” Kate cared for Derek , who died at the age of 56, for four years, discussed their relationship and said she is conscious of doing him proud even now, reports Wales Online . She said: “As for my relationship with Derek as a wife, rather than within the family, I feel his voice is in my head a lot. I’m very conscious of not letting him down, but I also know that he would be very proud of all of us.” Kate continued to host GMB throughout Derek's health battles and is currently appearing on The Celebrity Traitors alongside Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Celia Imrie, to name but a few. The show, which is filmed at Ardross Castle in the Highlands, sees faithfuls battle to banish the mystery trio of traitors in their midst. However, the faithfuls are not doing well at sniffing out the traitors thus far, as Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, and Cat Burns are all still in the castle with just three more episodes to go before the final. Eagle-eyed fans, though, believe they have predicted tonight's (Wednesday, October 29) murder victim after spotting what they believe is a major clue. Last week's cliffhanger saw Kate, Nick Mohammed, and Lucy Beaumont all facing being murdered in plain sight by the traitors. In the final moments of the last episode the three of them were seen spinning around to face either host Claudia Winkleman. And judging by the fleeting reactions, fans think Lucy could be the one to go. One said: "I think it's Lucy because of how much screen time she got today. And Nick's shocked face at the end of the episode is probably because he was relieved he saw Claudia, not that the traitors were there." Another said: "I feel like they wouldn't have kept Nick's gasp in if he was the one going."
