Kate Garraway 'in the process' of health diagnosis after Celebrity Traitors

Kate Garraway has revealed that she's "in the process" of seeking a health diagnosis after talking to a fellow celebrity during her stint on Celebrity Traitors. Kate, who was banished in episode eight of the hit Claudia Winkleman-led BBC show, has disclosed that she's sought a diagnosis for a health condition that , according to the NHS , means the brain "works differently to most people". It turns out that the 58-year-old Good Morning Britain (GMB) host is seeking a diagnosis for ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) after talking to fellow Celebrity Traitors star Cat Burns "about their life". Typically, people with ADHD face difficulties with inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, with symptoms including forgetfulness, getting easily distracted, issues following instructions, and losing things. Kate told The Sun on Sunday : "Talking to people like Cat about their music and about their life — she's autistic and ADHD and I've got that in my family." She continued: "And actually, I'm in the process of an ADHD diagnosis myself. In fact, I think it's pretty clear I am. So it's fascinating to see how it manifested for her." Singer-songwriter Cat explained on the show that she does indeed have both of these conditions and that it means it "takes a lot more effort" when she's "around people a lot". In further comments, Kate shared her thoughts on how her late husband, Derek Draper, who sadly died in January 2024, aged 56, following health complications from Covid-19 , might react to her role on Celebrity Traitors . She added that he "would've absolutely loved" to see her taking part and would've watched the show and said, "How could you not see this?!" The NHS stated that other potential symptoms of ADHD include displaying heightened energy and restlessness, being talkative or interrupting, and making rapid decisions without putting thought into what could happen. It noted that symptoms usually present before the age of 12 and that it's believed that the condition is spotted less often in women. The NHS suggested this could be because they more often display inattentive symptoms. According to the health service, these symptoms may be more difficult to identify than hyperactive symptoms. In other news, Kate recently chatted about her departure from Celebrity Traitors during a recent appearance on GMB and shared her thoughts on the potential winner (the final episode is due to air on Thursday, 6 November). Quizzed on who it might be, she said: "I genuinely don't know," before adding: "I'd love it to be a Faithful, I think Nick is brilliant, I think Joe M is coming through brilliantly." However, she has a "sneaky feeling" it will be somebody else: "I have a sneaky feeling it's going to be a Traitor and I have a sneaky feeling it's going to be Alan, I think he's a mega-star. "But I don't know, that's just me saying what I think." You can learn more about ADHD on the NHS website .
