Karnataka: Ragi health mix powder with hot milk to be distributed in schools five days a week

As announced in the State budget of 2025-26, the government has issued an order extending the programme, currently being implemented by the Sri Sathya Sai Annapurna Trust, of distributing ‘Sai Shur Ragi Health Mix Powder’ mixed with hot milk three days a week to children studying in government and aided schools from classes 1 to 10, to five days a week.
Currently, the health mix is served three days a week. In the latest order, the Department of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) has stated that 25% of the total cost will be paid by the government. The total cost of the project is ₹100 crore.
During the 2024-25 academic year, the government had started supplying Sai Sure Ragi Health mix powder, mixed with milk and provided to school children under Ksheera Bhagya scheme.
As recommended, 5 gram of the health mix powder has to be mixed with 150 ml of milk per child.
