Kai Trump’s Clothing Range Could Earn Fortune: Experts

Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, has launched her own clothing line, which experts have predicted could make millions of dollars.
Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment via email.
Why It Matters
Kai Trump’s foray into fashion signals more than just a personal business venture—it highlights the next generation’s entry into the Trump family’s long-standing business empire.
What To Know
The 18-year-old, who is the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Haydon, launched the clothing line in a post on Instagram on Friday.
The post featured pictures of Kai modeling her new line of sweatshirts outside the White House.
The sweatshirts, which are available in three colors and feature Kai’s name or initials, are being sold on her website for $130. On Friday, the 18-year-old modeled a white iteration of the sweatshirt alongside her grandfather as they headed onto Marine Force One en route to the Ryder Cup in New York.
Dr. Kent Le, of the University of East London, a fashion and luxury Business consultant, told Newsweek Kai’s clothing line could make between $5 million and $10 million in its first year, and up to $50 million in a few years’ time.
“Kai Trump’s new clothing line will likely attract significant attention because of her surname and the built-in media visibility that comes with it. In the short term, strong sales are possible—particularly if the line taps into U.S. youth culture and the novelty factor,” he said.
“It’s always difficult to put an exact figure on a brand-new venture, but based on comparable celebrity-driven fashion launches in the U.S., it would not be unusual to see 5 to $10 million in revenue in the first year if the line achieves wide distribution and strong media traction. With effective positioning and product quality, that could scale toward 25 to $50 million annually within a few years.”
Taylor Price, Gen Z’s finance influencer, predicted Miss Trump’s range could earn between $400,000-$600,000.
“I do think this could be the beginning of more ventures. We’ve seen a clear pattern of Gen Z leaning into the creator economy, where merch often acts as the first step in building a personal brand,” she told The Telegraph.
But Price added that if the clothing line is successful, Trump’s oldest granddaughter could make “millions.”
“With higher margins on clothing, a large portion of that could be profit if managed efficiently. If her line gains traction, the potential climbs into the millions.”
But Le cautioned that long-term success will depend on building a loyal customer base, as he said, the Trump name brings both visibility and risk.
“Of course, the Trump name brings both opportunity and risk—the initial numbers could be strong from curiosity and publicity, but long-term profitability will depend on repeat customers and the ability to build a community beyond the headline.”
Kai is not the only Trump family member to have launched a business venture.
Trump’s eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have overseen the expansion of the family’s real estate holdings during his second term.
At the same time, the president’s children have profited from lucrative business deals in the Middle East, secured ahead of his diplomatic visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
More recently, the Trumps have pivoted heavily toward cryptocurrency, launching a series of meme coins that have drawn widespread attention. Earlier this month, the family’s crypto ventures had generated an estimated $5 billion, surpassing the value of their real estate empire.
The White House has insisted there is no conflict of interest, arguing that Trump’s business assets remain under the control of his children.
What People Are Saying
Kai Trump said on Instagram: “This collection is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and I’m so grateful it’s finally here. Launching this line has been such an exciting project.”
“From the quality of the fabric to the details in the designs, I wanted to create a piece that isn’t just merch but a staple you can wear anywhere.”
The Republicans Against Trump X account said: “Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai is using the White House to sell merch. Right on brand for the Trumps.”
What Happens Next
The early success of Kai Trump’s clothing line will determine whether it becomes a standalone brand or a steppingstone into larger ventures within the Trump business portfolio.
