EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Nearly 200 K9 groups are in Eau Claire this week with the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association.
The association is holding a four-day conference and training session for canine handlers across the state.
You can expect to see more law enforcement around the area as they travel to and from the event.
Training is being held at multiple sites across the Eau Claire area.
“Yeah, the dogs love working, these are working dogs and uh, I know they’re all excited when they get her, and when they get out that, this is enjoyment for them. They’re made to work and this is their playtime,” said Curtis Goens, the President of the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Canine Handler Association.
The conference is expected to finish on Wednesday evening.
