Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs continues to have a slew of supporters, including his son, Justin Dior Combs.
Justin, 31, shared a quick and pointed message about his dad via his Instagram Story on Friday, September 26, calling for his father’s release ahead of his sentencing hearing.
“FREE PD ASAP” Justin wrote alongside the double exclamation point emoji.
Justin, who Diddy, 55, shares with ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton, was among those who wrote a letter in support of his father. Diddy is set to be sentenced on Friday, October 3, after his July conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Diddy has been behind bars at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since he was arrested in September 2024 and faces up to 20 years in prison.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo told Us in September 2024. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”
On Monday, September 22, Diddy’s lawyers asked Judge Arun Subramanian to consider sentencing the mogul to a 14-month sentence followed by a supervised release with mandatory drug treatment, individual therapy and group therapy, because guidelines for “Mr. Combs’s crimes of conviction” are usually six to 12 months.
His attorneys also insisted Diddy “has been adequately punished by serving 13 months in the terrible conditions.”
Justin’s letter, as well as dozens of others written by those close to Diddy, was included in the proposed sentencing package sent to Subramanian.
“Since his absence, life has felt incomplete. Each morning I wake up praying it was just a nightmare,” Justin wrote. “My father has been there for me every day of my life — not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually and in the deepest sense of what it means to be a father. I know how rare that is.”
Justin also asked that the judge “see my father the way I do — not through headlines, but through the eyes of a son who loves and needs him. Please allow him the chance to come home, to be the father his children desperately need and to continue the work of becoming the man I know he is capable of being. My siblings and I cannot get back this lost time, but we pray you will give us the gift of having our father back in our lives while we still have time with him.”
Justin, who was born in 1993, is the rapper’s oldest child. In addition to Hylton, Diddy also shares six more children children with his late wife Kim Porter, Sarah Chapman, and Dana Tran.
In June 2025, a woman accused both Diddy and Justin of rape. The woman also claimed she initially connected with Justin via SnapChat in 2017 and that Justin convinced her to travel from Louisiana to Los Angeles so he could help her break into the entertainment industry. Lawyers for Diddy denied the allegations. Us Weekly reached out to reps for both Diddy and Justin for comment at the time.
“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor,” a legal representative for Diddy told Us in a statement on Friday, June 27. “We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court.”
