Julia Roberts Reveals Son Henry Borrowed Her 1990 Armani Suit

Julia Roberts’ son Henry Moder has borrowed a very famous piece of clothing from her wardrobe.
Roberts, 57, made a rare comment about her 18-year-old son during an interview with Extra on Tuesday, September 30. She revealed that not only does she still have the menswear Armani suit that she wore to the 1990 Golden Globes, but Henry “just had it on the other day.”
The Pretty Woman actress recalled how she came to wear the iconic suit at the awards show, explaining that she had initially tried on clothing in the women’s department at the Armani store.
“And I went upstairs to the men’s department. I remember I put the suit on and I loved it,” she said, adding that she was impressed that she could have the suit tailored to her measurements on the spot. “I was very taken with myself.”
In her 2024 Life in Looks video for Vogue, Roberts called the suit one of her “all-time favorite outfits” — so it’s no small gesture to let Henry don the ensemble.
Roberts’ comment about her youngest son, whom she shares with husband Danny Moder — they also share twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 20 — comes months after she celebrated Henry’s 18th birthday with a sweet throwback photo via Instagram.
“In the blink of a joyful eye this beacon of a boy is ⚡️ 18 ⚡️ I love you Henry,” she captioned a photo from Henry’s childhood on June 18, adding the hashtags, “#goldenboy #goldenbirthday.”
Roberts married Moder, 56, in 2002 at her ranch in Taos, New Mexico, two years after they met on the set of the 2000 film The Mexican. Earlier this week, the Notting Hill star gushed that her husband was the element that brought her joy “in life.”
“Danny Moder,” she told Entertainment Tonight on Sunday, September 28. “Never changes. Never changes! Sometimes more. Sometimes medium.”
In 2022, Roberts told CBS Mornings that while being an actress was her “dream come true,” having a family was even better.
“The life that I’ve built with my husband, the life that we’ve built with our children [is a dream come true],” she said. “And that’s the best stuff, to come home at the end of the day triumphantly to them.”
Roberts also recently gave rare insight into how she and Moder raised their children in an interview with George Clooney for Edward and Akua Enninful’s 72 Magazine.
“I think they were, for sure, some of the last kids in their peer groups to get phones and stuff like that. When they were younger, certainly, Danny and I would have been considered some of the stricter parents,” she explained in Us Weekly’s exclusive look at the fall 2025 issue in September. “Not like we’re laying down the law, but these are the rules and they don’t change. Here’s the boundary of your life and it does not shift. You know, you don’t ask me and get an answer and then go ask dad and get a different answer. That doesn’t happen. It will never happen.”
Roberts concluded, “I think that is what creates the stability that then allows them to feel secure because you know there is this fixed world of love and safety that exists unconditionally.”
