In the modern music landscape, it can often feel like legacy rock bands who are still beloved will continue touring the world forever. After all, rock bands like The Rolling Stones, Metallica, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Foreigner, The Who, and ZZ Top all still regularly perform for their passionate fans. Sadly, however, one of the most successful rock bands of all time will soon be packing up its instruments and retiring. After they have somehow managed to remain beloved for decades, Journey has announced the details of the first leg of what is being billed as the legendary band’s final tour. On November 6, 2024, Journey announced the first leg of what the band says will be the group’s farewell tour, which is called the “Final Frontier Tour 2026,” on their official website. Years after Journey’s original singer Steve Perry left the group, the band’s current lineup consists of Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo, Arnel Pineda, Jason Derlatka, and Todd Jensen. Unfortunately for international fans, the first stage of the band’s farewell tour will only take place in North America. Journey’s final tour will kick off in Hershey, Pennsylvania’s Giant Center on February 28, 2026. All told, the first leg of Journey’s tour is set to consist of 60 concerts, with it ending on July 2, 2026, in Laredo, Texas’ Sames Auto Arena. Before the first leg of the tour ends, Journey will perform in major cities like Pittsburgh, Montreal, Vancouver, Kansas City, Atlantic City, New Orleans, Austin, Des Moines, Sacramento, Washington, D.C., and Buffalo. A November 2025 Variety article revealed more details about Journey’s final tour, including that presale tickets for the announced dates will become available for Citi cardholders on November 11 at 10 AM “local time.” The general sale will commence three days later at the same time. As of yet, nothing has been announced about when details of the second leg of Journey’s final tour will be revealed. Furthermore, nothing is known about whether there will be two or more legs to the landmark tour. What is clear, however, is that one of Journey’s legendary members, Neal Schon, has previously spoken about the band touring into 2027. After all, even though Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” originally was released in October 1981, the song still manages to have a profound effect on many listeners. That is why that song can be heard in a seemingly endless list of movies and TV show episodes. As ubiquitous as “Don’t Stop Believin'” is, it is important to note that is only one of Journey’s songs that have stood the test of time.
