Reports of Thanos’ demise might be greatly exaggerated. Despite dying twice in Avengers: Endgame, first killed by Thor, and then by Iron Man, it looks like Multiversal shenanigans might just bring the Mad Titan back. Via Comic Book Movie, we learned that Entertainment Tonight asked Brolin at the Running Man red carpet about the possibility of Thanos returning to the MCU. Here’s what he said about the possibility of the former wielder of the Infinity Gauntlet making a comeback in a future Marvel Studios film: If Joe Russo comes to me, which he may have, I don’t know, and has an idea, then I might acquiesce. That seems like a not-too-subtle hint that Thanos might be coming back on the big screen in an MCU film. Will it be in Avengers: Doomsday? Well, we certainly do not believe that the Doomsday cast list from last spring is the final roster of returning actors. So Josh Brolin may appear in it in some form. But we think it’s more likely that Thanos will return for Secret Wars. If that film takes place on Battleworld, as it did in the comics, one of the realms might be a world where Thanos won and rules over all. One place Thanos definitely will be back for is in the new Avengers: Infinity Defense attraction in Avengers Campus. We know little of the ride so far, but we do know the premise. The attraction has guests take a journey through the Multiverse, including a reality ruled over by King Thanos. And although not officially announced, it would come as a big surprise if Brolin didn’t reprise his role. So if he’s coming back for Infinity Defense, why not use King Thanos in Secret Wars too? Although we’re down for more Thanos, we actually want Brolin to come back as Cable from Deadpool 2 even more.
