Mahomes and Love have both experienced injury issues at the skill positions, which highlight how well they have played despite having to rely on backup receivers at times. Overall, Mahomes has guided Kansas City to 8th in scoring offense. Meanwhile, Love and Green Bay sit in 5th. If Love stacks up this well against the odds-on favorite, surely he deserves to be in the conversation as well. There are a few other quarterbacks near the top of the MVP odds list. Right behind Mahomes is last year’s MVP, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield has been receiving plenty of attention for the award as well. A few other dark horse QBs are also in the mix, namely New England’s Drake Maye and Indianapolis’ Daniel Jones. There’s no reason Love should not be included in such company.
