Dancing with the Stars season 34 week 2 has already kept the excitement of the fans pretty high. After all, we’ll finally get to see Jordan Chiles and her dance partner, Ezra Sosa, perform the Jive this week. And just like any other star on DWTS, the Olympic medalist and her partner have showcased their practice sessions on social media. You might expect things to be charged. But after the low 10/20 scores in the first week, things have become a bit chaotic for Chiles. However, not all chaos is the bad kind…
Taking to Instagram, Sosa shared a few visuals through his Stories. He shared a snap from the previous late-night practice session. Next up, he showed how Chiles cooked him spaghetti and meatballs, and said, “Get a partner that cooks for you. She cooks, and she feeds me.” But every other visual was about them learning the Jive, an upbeat, lively dance influenced by the jazz culture. And the chaos was real on day one of learning the jive.
Sosa shared a reel by DWTS and captioned, “we’re so chaotic for six in the morning 💀.” You read that right! Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa began working at six in the morning, and how did the Olympian feel apart from being tired? She claimed, “I’m actually doing really good. I’m excited to learn the Jive today. So, I think we should get started.”

In the first week, Sosa and Chiles danced to Beyoncé’s Break My Soul, incorporating an invigorating salsa regimen. However, the judges, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough, were not impressed. According to them, the dance was, of course, commendable, but not something that the audience could recognize. They wanted more authenticity. And that pushed the stars to opt for the Jive.

Needless to say, the netizens weren’t really happy with how things turned out for Jordan Chiles. The low scores were truly a bummer. But do you know what the gymnast thought about the criticism from the judges?
What does Jordan Chiles have to say about her low scores in DWTS week 1?
After her performance in the first week, Sosa and Chiles were interviewed by Extra TV. And one of the questions that they were asked was if the duo thought that the scores could have been higher. Chiles replied, “No, I don’t think so. I feel like a lot of it is very understandable. You know, it’s the first time. I wasn’t expecting, I wasn’t even expecting those scores. I thought they were going to be lower myself.”

Meanwhile, her partner revealed that Chiles initially thought the judges would score them a three. Jordan Chiles continued, “Yeah, so, I mean, as an athlete, there is a difference to competing, you know, in a ballroom. Like, you don’t know what’s going to happen. But I honestly, I’m going to take what they were saying. I don’t want to say they were critical. They were just judging. That’s just judging.”
No doubt, the dancers believed that it was a good thing they got low scores in the first week, when no teams were eliminated. But the duo certainly has to come out on top, starting this week. And a Jive might just help them do it.
