Jonathan Ross reveals Celebrity Traitors were told off after he broke the rules

Jonathan Ross has revealed he broke some of the rules from his Celebrity Traitors contract. The presenter, 64, said BBC bosses sent him - and the rest of the cast - a reminder of the guidelines after he discussed bits of the show which were cut. Last week, Jonathan - who has been attracting attention for his wardrobe on the show - said on his Reel Talk podcast lots of “gold” bits from funnyman Alan Carr were cut. But that appears to have got him in a bit of hot water. “It's nerve-wracking watching it for me,” he said, speaking on this week’s episode. “The round tables, of course, because a lot of stuff is edited out and I'm not allowed. “I didn't realise, but I’m not allowed to talk about the stuff that's edited out, which I can understand why.” He said the production crew got in touch with him last week, reminding him not to spill the show’s secrets. “When I started talking about it last week, they sent us all a kind of list saying, 'Just to remind you, these are the things in your contracts you're not allowed to talk about’,” he added. And Jonathan added that he’s happy to abide by the rules “to protect the integrity” of the game. “So I'll skirt around it as much as possible and not break any rules,” he added. “But there's a fairly comprehensive list, and most of it I can see is to protect the integrity of the game as a viewing experience for people, so it makes perfect sense.” The Standard has contacted the BBC for comment. Speaking last week on the podcast, Jonathan had said: “Obviously, there's so much left on the cutting room floor. “There are so many moments. There are so many funny things Alan Carr did and said, which I know already should have been the first episode, should have been the second episode. “There's something that happens later on that I know which should be in but isn't in. “And it's like, there's this Alan Carr gold waiting out there to be spun into them.” Yesterday, it was reported Celebrity Traitors bosses have hired mental health experts over fears for the stars’ wellbeing. A BBC spokesperson said: “Since the very first series in 2022, we have had a dedicated welfare team and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the players in private to ensure they feel comfortable throughout the entire process. “Our priority is and will continue to be supporting the well-being of our cast, and this is the case before, during, and after filming.”
