Today, though, Bon Jovi is focused on the future and his tour. In light of that, the rocker shared a little tidbit with fans to get them psyched over the tour and album. In an Instagram video, he revealed that not only is there a song on Forever that he literally wrote in his sleep, but also why the song has him feeling grateful for country sensation Lainey Wilson. “One day during the writing of Forever, bleary-eyed, first thing in the morning, before my coffee, I had a piece of paper in my hand and right from my eyes, and I’m calling out this lyric to my wife. I said, ‘Listen to what I came up with last night. In my sleep, it’s all about you. And I just thought, Man, we’ve got to come up with a song title. ’ In walks Billy Falcon to the kitchen. He goes, ‘I wrote you a song.’ And I just looked at him and went, ‘That’s the title,’ he expressed regarding how the title of “I Wrote You a Song” came to life. She had done a version of Born to Follow. I had seen her around town on that Grammy weekend, singing everything and anything and making it into her own. When I asked her to do this, she took our song and absolutely made it hers. She changed the notes of the melody. She made them incredibly sweet. She made a good song better. So thank you, Lainey. Indeed,” Bon Jovi stated. The rocker wrote, “Thank you @laineywilson for bringing your heart to I Wrote You A Song,” as the caption on his Instagram post. Oops!
