Wedding bells could soon be ringing for JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes, according to the latter’s father.
The pair met while appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in April. They developed a close relationship, often being seen cuddling each other and sharing intimate moments. Once the series was over, Siwa ended her relationship with Kath Ebbs.
Siwa and Love Island favourite Hughes were spotted together on numerous occasions afterwards but evaded questions about the nature of the relationship, choosing to not label it at first.
But in June, Dance Moms star Siwa confirmed she and Hughes were dating.
Speaking to the Daily Mail recently, Paul Hughes touched on his son’s relationship with the singer.
“It wouldn’t surprise us if they got married before Christmas,” he said. “We’ve got St Mary’s Church [in Temple Guiting, Gloucestershire] just over the lane from us which would be perfect.”
The family met Siwa “more or less as soon as they finished the show”, he added, and she’s “come to stay at weekends a few times since then.” She has been pictured on Instagram at the Hughes’ home, learning to make tea and engaging with the family’s horses.
“Even though they live together on the outskirts of London, they like to come here and relax,” Paul went on to say. “She’s a lot of fun and mucks in.”
Siwa herself has discussed the idea of marriage recently, telling The Sun: “A wedding is a two-person thing. So, we would have to decide what it looks like. But I do know I want a baby-blue scheme and I need to help Chris make the playlist. Otherwise, it’ll be all songs I don’t know.”
She also revealed that she was keen to have children. “It’s absolutely in my future and I don’t think it’s that far away,” the star said.
And appearing on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, she said: “It feels like my own family has turned a little bit,” in regard to the backlash to her relationship with Hughes. “Just because I am in a heterosexual relationship that doesn’t discredit my past.”
