Irish influencer Shauna Lindsay has opened up about how she ended up suffering a stroke, despite being just 30 years old and the 'healthiest and fittest' she has ever been. The Limerick lady revealed that a 'series of unfortunate events' led to her having a stroke whilst doing her usual workout class. Shauna took to social media to update her followers on her recent health woes with a teary video. The model, who is the ex-girlfriend of one half of the 2 Johnnies duo, Johnny O'Brien, explained that she has been going through a lot. 'Everything's come to a head because what happened was I had a stroke,' she confessed, explaining that she went through 'the most traumatic break-up' she's ever experienced during the summer (it's worth noting that Johnny B is not the man in question!) 'I've had bad breakups with good people, and that's hard enough, but like this was different, it was bad news,' she explained. 'It's just been so much, and that's an ongoing thing that's still happening, so it's super f***ing stressful.' 'I'm trying not to give it airtime, and honestly, this was my biggest problem and trauma, and it's very quickly become the least of my worries,' Shauna said. Things got even heavier for the influencer when she found out that her mum had been diagnosed with cancer. 'If you know me, you know my mum is my everything, my best friend,' Shauna said as she began to tear up. 'We call each other a million times a day, so finding that out has obviously been so f***ing tough.' Shauna explained how these stressful factors led to her having a stroke during her boxing class, despite feeling perfectly healthy in the lead-up to it. 'I threw two punches and automatically, on impact, my whole arm went completely numb,' she recalled, explaining how she felt like she had dislocated her arm and ran to the bathroom. Luckily, her pal came in to find her on the bathroom floor and rushed her to the hospital. Shauna remembered how the words that were coming out of her mouth were totally different from what she was trying to say. It turned out that the ordeal was caused by a PFO, or hole in Shauna's heart. After eight days in the hospital, she was sent home. Shauna is set to have an operation at the beginning of December and puts the ordeal down to stress. She explained that she was the furthest thing from unhealthy, and so never expected to suffer such extreme health woes. 'I'm definitely the healthiest, fittest I've ever been. I've been eating right. I've been training well, like, I'm strong, I'm fit,' she said.
