John C. Shearer OBITUARY
John C. Shearer, 83, of Sinking Spring, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Sinking Spring Nursing and Rehab. He was the husband of Dawn E. (Kerchner) Shearer.
John, a son of the late Charles S. and Pearl N. (Etchberger) Shearer, was born in Reading. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kurt Shearer, Mike Shearer, husband of Shannon, and Brian Shearer; and five grandchildren, Austin, Aubrie, Kaitlin, Cole, and Maggie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Candace Steinmetz.
He was a member of Olive Leaf Chapel.
He was an Army Veteran, having served during Vietnam.
John was a 1960 graduate of Reading High School and retired from Carpenter Technology. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to the family cabin in Lycoming County.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30PM, Friday, Sept. 26th, at Olive Leaf Chapel, 840 Fritztown Rd., Sinking Spring. Visitation with the family will be held from 12:30- 1:30 PM, Friday, at the church. Burial will be private for the family. Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, is handling arrangements.
