John Mayer is heading to India.
The seven-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist will perform his first-ever concert in the country on Jan. 22, 2026, at Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai. The one-night-only show will be presented and produced by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment arm of BookMyShow.

“India has long been on my list of places to play, not just for the vibrancy of its culture but for the way music lives in the everyday lives of people here,” Mayer said in a statement. “To finally perform in Mumbai feels both humbling and exhilarating.”
Tickets will be available through BookMyShow beginning with an exclusive pre-sale for RuPay credit card holders on Oct. 12, 2025, followed by a general on-sale on Oct. 13, 2025.
The announcement underscores the expanding role of BookMyShow Live as a driver of international touring in South Asia. Once a ticketing startup, the company has evolved into a full-service live entertainment player, producing and promoting tours and festivals across India. Past projects have included bringing global superstars like Coldplay, U2, Ed Sheeran, Guns N’ Roses, Maroon 5 and Post Malone to the market, as well as creating large-scale experiences such as Lollapalooza India, Cirque du Soleil’s BAZZAR and NBA exhibition games.
“John Mayer’s debut performance in India represents a significant cultural milestone and reflects how far live music has come in this country,” said Naman Pugalia, chief business officer of live events at BookMyShow, in a statement. “His music has touched millions across the world, weaving its way into some of the most personal and unforgettable moments of our lives. To finally see him on stage in Mumbai transforms that private connection into a collective experience.”
In recent years, India has emerged as a major stop for international acts. Post Malone, Imagine Dragons, and Dua Lipa have all sold out shows across the country, while Lollapalooza India drew 60,000 fans in 2023. According to Live Nation, Lollapalooza India’s 2025 edition — headlined by Green Day and Shawn Mendes — set a new attendance record. And the momentum continues: Cigarettes After Sex sold out two large shows in January, Guns N’ Roses will take the stage at Mahalaxmi Racecourse next month and Travis Scott is slated to perform in Delhi this October.
