Podcast host Joe Rogan during an episode released Tuesday expressed support for the Trump administration’s meeting of senior military officials.
Rogan said during an of The Joe Rogan Experience that it makes sense President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth spoke about their ideas for the military, like what Rogan called a “moral and ethical mandate.”
“Like, preparedness, this is what we want the military to be … no more f**king politics and no more, no more identity politics and bullshit,” Rogan explained.
“The most important thing is be ready. Be ready, have the best, most capable military that’s humanly possible given the resources that we have today. This is what our, this is what our goal is. This is what our job is. Which makes sense.”
Trump and Hegseth criticized the Biden administration’s policies and described what they called higher standards for the military under the current administration. Trump said he is “reawakening the warrior spirit.”
“This is a spirit that won and built this nation. And from the cavalry that tamed the Great Plains to the ferocious and yielding power of Patton, Bradley and the great Gen. Douglas MacArthur, these are all great men,” the president said, referring to World War II generals. “In this effort, we’re a team and so my message to you is very simple. I am with you, I support you. And as president, I have your backs 100%. You’ll never even see me waver a little bit.”
The Biden administration defended its military under the 46th president. Former Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who was in his role for nearly all of Biden’s presidency, said in January he was proud of what the military had achieved.
“For the past four years, we’ve stood up to our rivals, we’ve weakened our foes, strengthened our friends, invested in our future, and done right by our people,” Austin said. “Now, that doesn’t just happen. And I am incredibly grateful to the exceptional team that has changed the course of history.”
