Joe Higashi Hurricane Uppers his way into Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in Fall 2025

This week, news on the continuation of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ first season pass dropped. Following the release of Ken from Street Fighter, the next planned fighter for Season Pass 1 is none other than SNK Muay Thai specialist and classic Fatal Fury fighting character, Joe Higashi. SNK recently shared a trailer of Joe in action, showing off his bevy of Tiger Kicks, Tiger Knees, and Hurricane Uppers, as well as reaffirming that he’s coming sometime this Fall 2025.

SNK dropped the trailer for Joe Higashi on its official YouTube channel today. A series regular since the very first Fatal Fury, Joe Higashi has been the de facto Muay Thai combatant in SNK fighters since the start. Brash and full of himself, Joe brings his rapid punches, tornado projectiles, and powerful straight, rising, and overhead kicks to the game.

Since Preecha is Joe’s disciple, his style was somewhat represented in City of the Wolves, but much like Andy Bogard, he brings back his original Fatal Fury move set with a few new tricks. In particular, he has an advancing double knee normal, and a fast-looking overhead EX elbow that look like interesting additions to his well-rounded pressure. Classic staples of his kit, such as the Bakuretsuken rapid punch combo, Tiger Knee anti-air, and Tiger Kick were also shown. Strangely, a normal version of his classic Hurricane Upper didn’t make an appearance in the trailer, so it will be interesting to see if he still has it.

Joe Higashi follows after Ken came to City of the Wolves in August 2025. With Joe’s Fall 2025 release looming, stay tuned for updates as we await his arrival by staying on the City of the Wolves topic.
