The Joe Burrow Foundation fired a board member over insensitive comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Ted Berry, an Ohio judge, was removed from his position after he allegedly wrote several Facebook posts on the Utah shooting that left the political conservative commentator dead on Wednesday, according to Fox 19 in Cincinnati. Hamilton County municipal court Judge Ted Berry posted comments on Facebook, sparking backlash.“The Joe Burrow Foundation was founded on the belief that everyone has the responsibility to do good,” the group announced in a statement on Twitter. “We have terminated an advisory board member that made inappropriate remarks in light of recent events and they are no longer associated with the Foundation. Their comments do not reflect our values or our mission. Berry responded to another Facebook user that Kirk “spewed hate & division.”Live Events“How’s he feel about gun violence and gun control in Hell, now?” Berry reportedly said in another post. Berry told the outlet that he does not “condone any type of violence on any human being.”“I regret if I caused division,” Berry said, per the Enquirer. “That was not my intent. That has torn me apart… At times, it feels like mourning his death by gun contradicts everything he stood for, everything he said, everything he believed.”Acho, a former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker, also accused Kirk of promoting racist attitudes. “He referred to both Michelle Obama and Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson—both Harvard graduates—as lacking the intellectual capacity to be taken seriously. We need to humanize him, not idolize or demonize him.”Carolina Panthers communications coordinator Charlie Rock was fired by the team for Instagram posts on Kirk’s assassination.
