Job for couple on stunning island pays £60,000 salary with free cottage thrown in

An opportunity for a couple to relocate to a stunning Scottish island for work has emerged – with a free cottage on offer to the successful pair. A “beautiful estate” on the Isle of Mull is seeking to recruit the two people who will be responsible for overseeing its daily operations, alongside its holiday rental properties. A job advert on Greycoat Lumleys says the roles will require 40 hours of work weekly, with a wage of £60,000 on offer. Staff will have access to an estate vehicle for professional use, but the primary benefit is the “charming” three-bedroom cottage situated within the estate, complete with its own garden . Utility costs and council tax will be the responsibility of the workers and training will be provided for any necessary duties of the roles. The chosen candidates will be greeting and hosting visitors, and taking care of the weekly cleaning of properties, including laundry services. Additional tasks include various gardening jobs. The estate is home to a walled kitchen garden, with weeding, mowing, strimming, and chainsaw work all necessary, reports the Daily Record . The job also includes a number of “non-essential” tasks such as boat duties and maintenance, livestock management, and salmon river management. According to the Greycoat Lumleys website, these roles present a “fantastic opportunity to run a successful business”. The estate is described as housing “beautiful properties in a stunning coastal setting”. Mull also offers plenty of attractions for the successful couple to explore. The main town, Tobermory, boasts numerous shops and eateries, while beauty spots like the Eas Fors Waterfall and Langamull Beach are not to be missed. The job listing reads: “This beautiful estate located on the Isle of Mull is looking for an Experienced Couple with passion and commitment to live within the estate and run its operations. The individuals will be responsible for the day to day running of the estate and its holiday let properties. This is a fantastic opportunity to run a successful business with the very highest standards and beautiful properties in a stunning coastal setting.” Greycoat Lumleys further adds: “The individuals have the use of an estate vehicle for their duties and will be provided with any training required to perform the duties of their roles. These positions are not short-term roles, hence living and working on the island must suit the lifestyle of the applicants.” The job listing states that applications will close “as soon as the right candidate is found”.
