Joanna Page warned by husband 'it's going to ruin us' as she opens up on family decision

Joanna Page has revealed that she was once warned by her husband that they faced “ruin” if they failed to make a huge family decision. The Gavin and Stacey actress’ insights came in a recent episode of the Chris Evans Show on Virgin Radio, in which she discussed something she has in common with the legendary radio star: a large family. Joanna , who has four children, Eva, Kit, Noah, and Boe, with Emmerdale star James Thornton, chatted to Chris, who has a sizeable family of his own, about her kids, who are aged three, eight, 10 and 12. It seems unlikely that there are any more kids on the horizon for Joanna, who previously opened up on Loose Women about her decision to have her fallopian tubes tied in her mid-forties, although she considered having the procedure reversed. Speaking to Chris , the actress explained why she and James ultimately decided not to have any more, noting that it may have been a case of being unable to “cope with it”. She said: “Well, we planned for four. I’m an only child, and so I was like, you know, if we have one, you’re lucky, you know. I don’t know how many we’re gonna get. “But James, my husband, is one of four, so he was like, ‘Right, we’re going to go for four’, and then we had two, and he said, ‘Right, that’s our lot; we can’t cope with it emotionally, mentally, financially. It’s going to ruin us’. Joanna added: “And so yeah, so after three, it was just like, ‘Nope, that is it; that’s the end’.” Last year, Joanna revealed that she’d “chatted” to her husband about potentially having more kids , admitting that she remained “very maternal” and that she’d been thinking about “fostering or adopting”. Speaking to Woman and Home magazine, she said: “I don’t regret having my tubes tied, and although I felt broody at the start of the year, I don’t any more. At the beginning of this year, I did a health check, which involved a scan that showed that my right ovary had packed up.” Joanna went on to reveal that there “wasn’t anything left”, and she had “no eggs”. It was a moment that “felt huge” for her. She also disclosed that she’d been prescribed HRT patches. However, she confessed that she was afraid to use them as she thought it would result in her being unable to have any more children, despite previously having her “tubes tied”. Speaking about the topic on Loose Women , Joanna revealed that she once researched whether she could have her “tubes put back together”. Learning that it was possible, she informed her husband. She said: “I told James, he just looked at me and went: ‘You what? What on earth are you going on about?’ so I will not be having any more. I’ve got my beautiful four children.” You can next catch Joanna on Sunday Brunch on Channel 4 on Sunday, September 28, from 10am to 1pm.
