JoAnna Garcia Swisher is the latest Reba cast member to reunite with country music star Reba McEntire on NBC comedy series Happy’s Place. Steve Howey and Christopher Rich took their turns last season.

Swisher will play “Kenzie,” a local Knoxville influencer hired to represent Happy’s Place in a social media marketing campaign. “All of it is much to Bobbie’s chagrin,” per the logline.

In Happy’s Place, Bobbie (McEntire) inherits her father’s tavern, Happy’s Place. She also inherited a business partner Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), the twenty-something half-sister that she never knew she had. “In season two, Happy’s Place reopens its doors, and a long-buried secret comes to light that will test loyalties and shake things up inside the tavern,” the synopsis reads. “Through it all, Bobbie must remind everyone that family isn’t what you’re born into, but it’s the people that stand beside you, even in the workplace.”

Happy’s Place also stars Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn. Writer Kevin Abbott executive produces with McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry and Pamela Fryman. Abbott and his wife Julie Abbott created the series.

Happy’s Place season two premieres on NBC on Friday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.  The series is produced by Universal Television.

Swisher, who is married to former New York Yankees player Nick Swisher, is best known for playing Reba McEntire’s daughter, Cheyenne, in the hit sitcom Reba. Swisher actually got a 2005 Teen Choice Award nomination in the breakout star category. (Eva Longoria won for Desperate Housewives — you could lose to worse!)

In Reba, Rich played Reba’s ex-husband Brock Hart and Howey played Cheyenne’s baby daddy and eventually husband Van Montgomery.

Swisher currently stars as Maddie Townsend in Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, which is in production on its fifth season. She’ll direct two of the season five episodes.

Swisher is repped by UTA, Untitled and Shelter PR.
