Jimmy Kimmel Once Accused Aaron Rodgers Of Lying—Then Came His Kirk Comments

ABC/Disney indefinitely suspended late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday after he made false claims about the alleged murderer of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” If you’re not aware of what he said, here’s a quick reminder. Kimmel said on Monday’s show, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” What Officials and Texts Say About Tyler Robinson Those comments came despite Utah Gov. Spencer Cox a day earlier telling NBC’s “Meet the Press” that Tyler Robinson subscribed to left-wing ideology and was radicalized in recent years. In other words, Kimmel told a flat-out lie. He also refused to correct that lie on Tuesday’s show after officials released text messages between Robinson and his alleged transgender partner that said Robinson “had enough of [Kirk’s] hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.” ABC/Disney pulled him off the air prior to Wednesday’s show. Whatever you think about that decision, it’s fairly clear that Kimmel lied to his dwindling audience — and did not apologize or correct himself after officials laid out the facts in Robinson’s charging document. As Dr. House famously said, “Everybody lies.” So, who cares? Well, Jimmy Kimmel cares, for one. Remember when Aaron Rodgers went on Pat McAfee’s ESPN show and made a joke about Kimmel being on the Epstein list in January 2024? Kimmel’s Lecture to Aaron Rodgers on ‘Lies’ and Apologies Predictably, Kimmel lost his mind. And, ironically, during his sanctimonious monologue, the late-night host said that he doesn’t “make up lies” and he has “a team of people who work very hard to sift through facts before [he] makes a joke.” Looks like his “team of people” might have taken Monday off because they certainly didn’t “work very hard” to check the facts about Tyler Robinson before Kimmel delivered his monologue. But Kimmel wasn’t done during that January 2024 show. He added: “When I do get something wrong, which happens on rare occasions, you know what I do? I apologize for it, which is what Aaron Rodgers should do. Which is what a decent person would do, but I bet he won’t.” A decent person would apologize, huh? Well, where’s the apology Jimmy Kimmel? You got something wrong. By his own logic, Jimmy Kimmel is not a decent person. And he’s (likely) unemployed because of it.
