NEW YORK (Gray Media) - President John F Kennedy’s youngest grandson Jack Schlossberg announced Wednesday he is running for Congress in New York City. The 32-year-old is vying to replace longtime Congressman Jerry Nadler in New York’s 12th Congressional District. Nadler, who served for more than three decades in the House and 50 years in public service announced in September he would not seek reelection in 2026. The highest-ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee leaves a void in New York politics, ushering in a new generation which Schlossberg hopes to lead. Schlossberg rose to prominence on social media, amassing hundreds of thousands of followers, using his platforms to promote Democratic policies. In addition to serving as a surrogate for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election, Schlossberg has been outspoken against the Trump administration, including his uncle Robert F Kennedy Jr, the current Secretary of Health and Human Services. Schlossberg enters a crowded field including Democratic candidates with significant public service experience. As of now he is facing multiple state representatives and a city council member in next year’s primary.
