Jets WR Garrett Wilson Gets Crushing Injury Update from Sports Doctor

Things are a mess in New York, and now the Jets are facing the possibility of being without their best player for potentially weeks after Sunday’s 13-11 Week 6 loss to the Denver Broncos in London.
In that game, Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson was injured on one of the team’s final drives in the fourth quarter as he twisted his body awkwardly on an attempted catch of a ball that was thrown just out of his reach.
Wilson got up limping, and what was initially believed to be a hip contusion was later revealed to be a knee injury.
“I’m going to find out here soon and know how to move forward based on what I find out,” Wilson told reporters after the game, via the New York Post.

Wilson is expected to get an MRI on Monday morning, and the team could release a more detailed update on his condition after that or potentially Tuesday morning.
While Jets fans anxiously await those results, notable sports medicine physician and Injury Expertz CEO Jesse Morse believes the team could be looking at the prospect of being without their star wideout for a handful of games.
“Best-case scenario this is a mild sprain of the knee, this is not a meniscal tear, and he could come back next week,” Morse said. “If not, if this is a mild sprain, now we’re talking a couple of weeks. If this is a meniscal tear, that could be 3-4 weeks, if not longer. … Potentially, I don’t want to say a significant knee but at least a mild injury, potentially moderate depending on what they find.”

If Wilson misses any length of time, it would be a death blow of sorts to the 28th-ranked Jets offense that’s averaging just 279.8 yards per game and has the fewest passing yards of any team this season (865).
New York finished with -10 yards passing yards in Sunday’s loss, a new franchise worst, and Wilson (three catches, 13 yards) and Josh Reynolds (three catches, 25 yards) were the only pass-catchers with more than six yards receiving.
