Jets vs Dolphins Expert Predictions for AFC East Battle on MNF

The Miami Dolphins host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football in the first of a doubleheader to close out Week 4 of the NFL season. The two 0-3 teams will look for their first win of the season, accompanied by the bright lights of primetime football in what should be an intense divisional battle.
Miami kept things close for about 30 minutes against the juggernaut Buffalo Bills last week, but eventually fell to their divisional counterparts, 31-21. The Jets stormed back in a Week 3 battle against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, outscoring their opponent, 21-6, in the fourth quarter. However, a seven-play Baker Mayfield drive led the Bucs to a victory.
Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is tied for the fourth-most interceptions this season with four, and his offense has the second-fewest points scored this season with 56. The Jets are ranked No. 25 in the league in terms of total points and second-to-last in total yards gained this season.

Who will finally earn their first win in the latest installment of Monday Night Football this week? The staff at Newsweek Sports has some insight.
Noah Camras: The Jets and Dolphins are both in must-win territory as they enter Monday’s matchup at 0-3. The Dolphins have been arguably the biggest disappointment in the NFL, averaging just 18.7 points per game with a negative-5 turnover differential. On Monday, they’ll take advantage of a weak Jets team and get their season on track in a high-scoring game.
Prediction: Dolphins 27, Jets 23
Gabe Smallson: The Dolphins and Jets both have a ways to go before they can be seen as a legitimate threat, but what better opportunity to get one’s first win than against a winless team? The Dolphins convert 54.3 percent of their third-down conversions, and the Jets are at an abysmal 27.8 percent. The Jets got extremely close last week against a talented Tampa Bay squad, but close doesn’t cut it in the NFL. The Dolphins have enough going for them to get back on track in this one.
Prediction: Dolphins 24, Jets 13

Valentina Martinez: The Jets and Dolphins are both winless heading into their Monday Night Football showdown, but only one of these teams will start the season 0-4. Miami surprised many with their solid performance against the Bills, so I’m taking the Dolphins to get the win in a close one.
Prediction: Dolphins 24, Jets 23
Nelson Espinal: The Dolphins managed to put up a good fight against the Bills last week, but the team still has major flaws with no clear strength. Fortunately for them, the Jets are also struggling this season, though they at least have a reliable run game to lean on, while the Dolphins are only able to score through missed tackles. It will be an ugly game, but the Jets have been the better team and should win on the road.
Prediction: Jets 20, Dolphins 13
