Jets RB Breece Hall Reveals True Feelings on Trade Speculation

Another year of New York Jets football, and another year of a proposed trade surrounding star running back Breece Hall. Hall is talented, which is clearly the biggest reason why his name constantly comes up in trade talks.

The other big issue with the Jets is that the team may be headed for a roster overhaul. At 0-5, there isn’t much that is going well for the team, and they could choose to dump some high contracts for draft compensation before the November trade deadline.
Oddly enough, the Jets have continued to state they have “no indication” of wanting to move Hall. The most recent report of this came from Jets beat writer Rich Cimini. The ESPN insider did state the only reason he may be moved would be due to his contract.
“The Jets have given no indication they want to deal Hall, but he probably will generate interest because he’s in the final year of his contract and the team could be out of contention.”
Despite all the rumors surrounding Hall being moved, the man himself has broken his silence on being traded by the Jets.
Hall was speaking to the British media ahead of their international matchup with the Denver Broncos when he was asked about the trade rumors. His response was short and sweet.
“I’m here, I wanna be here. I wanna be a New York Jet.”

Hall clearly wants to remain in the building, and truly has no control over whether the front office wants to move him. This statement should go a long way toward helping him remain on the team, but the Jets’ record and trajectory may lead to a fire sale.
As stated, the Jets are 0-5, and they do not look like a team that is remotely ready to compete in 2025. It could be new head coach Aaron Glenn, or a holdover roster from the former regime that is just missing too many parts. Either way, it would make sense for the team to take some calls regarding their star rusher.
Through five games, Hall has compiled 351 yards on the ground. He also has 150 receiving yards. He has also surpassed 1,000 yards from scrimmage through the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Considering Hall is young in his football career and still putting up big numbers, the Jets would likely not move him. However, the call to reset the roster and start again in 2026 might be too big for the team not to consider moving on from their star rusher for a big draft capital gain.
