Jets Land Top WR Prospect in Latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft

The New York Jets offense has shown some encouraging signs throughout the start of the 2025 NFL season, but have mostly struggled throughout the 0-4 start. In particular, the passing game has been a mess outside of Garrett Wilson — which has made things even harder for Justin Fields to start the year.
If things continue down this path, one NFL Draft analyst has the Jets adding one of the most dynamic WR talents at the collegiate level to give this passing offense some juice in 2026.
PFSN 2026 NFL Mock Draft Has Jets Selecting Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson
Ian Cummings of Pro Football Sports Network is one of the best NFL Draft evaluators, which makes the way he talks about Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson exciting for any team that selects him once he joins the professional ranks.
In his latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft, Cummings has the Jets selecting Tyson in the first round.
Cummings wrote, “The Justin Fields-to-Garrett Wilson dream was alive for one week before Fields got hurt. He should be able to return pretty soon, but even then, it’s clear that one weapon isn’t enough for the Jets’ offense. The cupboard is bare outside of Wilson, and something has to give.”
Fields did return to the lineup on Monday night and threw for 226 yards in their loss against the 27-21 loss to the Miami Dolphins to drop to 0-4 on the season. Wilson did his part with six receptions for 82 yards and a score, but it is very concerning for this offense that the only other WR to contribute anything in this contest was Allen Lazard — who finished the night with one catch for eight yards.
The Jets badly need help at receiver to give Fields, or any other quarterback, any shot to succeed in this offense.
How Jordyn Tyson Could Impact this Jets Offense in 2026
Cummings added, “If the Jets have a chance to add a talent like Jordyn Tyson, they should sprint to the podium. Tyson is a true three-level threat combining crisp route running, flexibility, stem IQ, space-creating vertical speed, steely body control at the catch, and dynamic RAC.”
Tyson is off to a great start this season with 39 receptions for 483 yards and seven scores through his first five games of the college season.
Cummings continued to praise Tyson’s skill set as a tantalizing NFL prospect by writing, “Tyson, who is PFSN’s preseason WR1 in the 2026 NFL Draft, has been incredible as the Sun Devils’ top option, with 24 catches for 314 yards and 4 TDs in his first three games. He earned acclaim in the preseason months with his vertical ability on film, but he’s re-emphasized his merit as a truly complete three-level threat in the month of September.”
The production is encouraging, but Cummings went on to detail that his ability to separate as a route runner and instantly become a dangerous runner with the ball in his hands is what makes him an intriguing prospect entering the NFL.
Cummings concluded, “At his size, he’s a fluid and fleet-footed separator, a clutch catch-point converter, and an instinctive RAC threat with fantastic footwork on RAC transitions, body control, and fluidity weaving through crowds.”
The Jets desperately need a playmaker to emerge at receiver to complement Wilson before the season is completely lost. Otherwise, adding a receiver could be the team’s top priority entering the 2026 NFL season.
