Jessie J says she's 'frustrated' after her second cancer surgery is postponed after rescheduling her tour

Jessie J has told fans of her “frustration” after her second cancer surgery was postponed. The singer, 37, had breast cancer surgery in June before revealing in August that she had to have another operation before the end of the year, meaning she had to postpone her US and Canada tour. But Jessie has now told fans that surgery has been delayed. “Some of you may know, some of you may not know, I was supposed to have a second breast surgery two weeks ago,” she said on Instagram yesterday. “So a week before my surgery I went to my surgeon and we discussed my surgery and it felt a little more complex than he was anticipating and referred me to a different surgeon who I then saw, had a meeting with who said: ‘I think this can wait a little while’. “Obviously I'd already cancelled my tour so I was obviously frustrated but again it's out of my control and two different surgeons had two different opinions.” Jessie added she immediately went into “mum mode” after the news, and has now organised new dates for the US tour next year. “I’m so excited, I’m starting my year next year this will be the first thing I do and I’m just so happy that I got to make this happen so quickly,” she said. Last week, it was revealed Jessie will return to the Royal Variety Performance after having breast cancer surgery. Jessie performed at the ITV entertainment show in 2013 and will return to the Royal Albert Hall on November 19 to sing her new song, I’ll Never Know Why, from her upcoming album Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time. Attended by members of the royal family, the variety show will also feature Grammy award-winning singer Laufey, pop band Madness and a guest appearance by Stephen Fry. Hosted by comedian Jason Manford, the show will kick off with the national anthem, performed by Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins, before a string of acts take the stage including comedy from Tom Davis and Mick Miller and a magical illusion by Britain’s Got Talent winner Harry Moulding. A performance by the cast of Paddington The Musical will also feature ahead of the show’s premiere, along with a one-off performance from the Live Aid musical Just For One Day, which will be introduced by singer-songwriters Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure. Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe will showcase an extract from the musical Kinky Boots before the grand finale, which will see 400 performers, including Michael Ball, Matt Lucas and Katy Secombe, take part in a medley in celebration of the 40th anniversary of award-winning musical Les Miserables.
