Jerry Jones Breaks Silence on CeeDee Lamb’s Injury After WR Tried to Return in Cowboys Loss

Dallas Cowboys supporters were alarmed on Sunday when star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb exited the game with an ankle injury and did not return. After the final whistle, Lamb was seen walking toward the locker room without a boot or any support devices, but he had not been cleared to resume play.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the media that team doctors believe CeeDee Lamb’s injury isn’t as serious as it could have been, and he is hopeful about the recovery. “Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.” Even though the report is positive, the four-time Pro Bowl receiver might still miss some games.
Jones also shared that early evaluations were promising and pointed out Lamb’s eagerness to get back on the field. ”You see the difference he can make in a ball game,’‘ he added, highlighting the wide receiver’s impact even in limited action.
Noted sports doctor Dr. Deepak Chona of Sports Med Analytics offered more insight on social media, reviewing video of the injury and hypothesizing that it looked like a high ankle sprain. “Most do cause missed time but his ability to walk on it right away suggests lower severity. [Average two weeks] for mild cases,” Chona posted on X, projecting an average recovery of approximately two weeks.
The Cowboys will likely monitor Lamb closely this week. His availability for future games remains uncertain, but early signs suggest the team avoided a worst-case scenario.
