In 2023, actress Jen Lilley surprised Days of Our Lives fans as she reprised her role as Jeanie Theresa Donovan on the Peacock daytime drama. Now, two years later, Lilley is reflecting on the possibility of stepping back into the role again. In a recent interview with Remind Magazine, Lilley discussed her upcoming projects, and looked back on her time at Days of Our Lives, calling it a meaningful chapter in her acting career. When asked if she would ever consider returning to the role, Lilley responded, “In a heartbeat.” Lilley went on to explain that her family life is her current priority, saying, “It’s just difficult at this moment of my life because I have 4 children, but it feels like 1000.” While a full-time return isn’t in the cards right now, Lilley said she’d gladly return for a limited appearance, “I mean, I would always come back for short stints any day. I love everybody on the shows; they’re amazing.” Reflecting on her time in Salem, Lilley added, “I just love all of them and I’m grateful that I got to be part of something so iconic.” 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬 Lilley first joined Days of Our Lives in 2013 as Theresa Donovan, the daughter of supercouple Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) and Kimberly Brady (Patsy Pease). After temporarily stepping in for Kirsten Storms as Maxie on General Hospital, Lilley quickly became a fan favorite in Salem, especially through Theresa’s relationship with Brady Black (Eric Marstolf). She left the soap in 2016 but returned briefly in 2018 and once again in 2023. Following Lilley’s most recent return, the role was recast with actress Emily O’Brien taking over as Theresa. “Huge congratulations to Emily O’Brien for her [recent] Emmy nomination. That’s great.” Lilley shared. Lilley’s latest project, A Chrismystery, is officially described as “After the death of her husband, Annie Willows (Lilley) returns to her hometown to become deputy sheriff. Though determined not to stay, a mysterious crime and the town’s warmth draw her back to what really matters—family, love and the spirit of Christmas.” A Chrismystery is available now on AppleTV and Fandango at Home. Days of Our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
