India created history on October 30 (Thursday) when they defeated the mighty Australia in the Women's World Cup 2025 semi-final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to reach the final of the mega tournament, where they will play South Africa on November 2 (Sunday). The main architecht of this win was Jemimah Rodrigues, who slammed an unbeaten century to chase down 338, the highest-ever ODI chase in Women's cricket history. After playing this historical knock, Rodrigues was visibly emotional, and she revealed that she had struggles with her mental health. After winning the Player of the Match award for her 127-run knock, Jemimah Rodrigues revealed that she was not doing well mentally and has been going through anxiety throughout the tournament, even crying every day. She also revealed that being fropped from the 2022 Women's World Cup despite being in good form affected here. “It was really hard this last month, it feels like a dream and it still has not sunk in. Last year, I was dropped from this World Cup. I was in good form. But things kept happening back-to-back and I could not control anything. I have almost cried every day through this tour," a visibly emotional Rodrigues said. “Not doing well mentally, going through anxiety. I knew I had to show up and God took care of everything. Initially, I was just playing and I kept talking to myself. Towards the end, I was just quoting a scripture from the Bible, to just stand still and that God will fight for me. I just stood there and he fought for me. A lot inside me was left, but I was trying to stay calm," she added.
