The former Cup Series champion and current vice chairman of Hendrick Motorsports talked about the pressure and distractions that come with championship week as his drivers prepare for the biggest race of the year.William Byron and Kyle Larson from Hendrick Motorsports have made it to the Championship 4. I think it’s just three. And they put a lot of emphasis media wise, and attention, you know we’ll have our partners that’ll be there, it is the fans that are gonna show up, so it’s a big deal, so, there’s a lot of distractions that get added to your schedule, so you gotta manage.”The NASCAR Cup Series playoffs start with 16 drivers. Over the final 10 races of the season, four drivers are eliminated after each round until only four remain.
