A NEW soft play centre at the Waterfront – to replace the one at Fort Regent – is due to open next month.
The Jersey Development Company have confirmed that Tintos Soft Play, which sits in the newly refurbished former Arcadia and WYSIWYG premises, will open on Wednesday 1 October.
The indoor play facility at Fort Regent is permanently closing at the on 29 September, in preparation for the wider redevelopment of the site.
The government’s development arm confirmed that Tintos will cater for children aged 0 to 12. The space will be run by an independent operator.
Facilities include a baby play area, a sensory zone, an interactive zone, plus, slides, climbing walls, rope bridges and crawl-through tubes.
The space will also house a café and a dedicated party space for birthdays and other events.
Tintos will open seven days a week, from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Thursday, and 9pm to 6pm on Friday to Sunday.According to the JDC, funding for the play area has come from profits of JDC’s College Gardens development, as agreed by the Regeneration Steering Group.
Announcing the opening, Lee Henry, chief executive of the firm, said: “We’re delighted to see the transformation of this space at the Waterfront into a new family-focused amenity.”
“Tintos Soft Play is just one part of the government’s relocation of activities from Fort Regent to enable its much-needed regeneration and we’re pleased to be working alongside government to deliver new all-weather leisure facilities that serve the community.”
