At this point, defenders might have to choose between leaving Jaylen Brown open or risking marks on their jerseys. During Wednesday night’s matchup against the Washington Wizards, the Boston Celtics star’s head made contact with rookie Kyshawn George, leaving a fake hairline stain on the Washington forward’s white undershirt, per Bleacher Report. It’s a sight that fans have grown used to seeing, as this keeps happening. Brown has already gone viral for similar incidents. One earlier this season involved Knicks forward OG Anunoby, whose jersey picked up traces of Brown’s hair dye during a game. The clip spread fast, prompting Brown to laugh it off by calling LeBron James on a livestream for some veteran hairline advice. “They caught me slippin’,” Brown said in a voicemail to James, Complex reports. “I need to know, Turkey or no Turkey, and I ain’t talking about no cheese sandwich. This some real stuff, bro. Call your little bro back.” Brown later joked that playing in Boston had aged him faster than expected. “I blame Boston,” he said. “Ten years of stress, the media, the championship. Y’all caused this.” When the newest clip hit social media, Brown leaned into the joke again. “AI is getting outta hand,” he quipped on X. Given that the Celtics cruised to a 136–107 win, it was easy for him to laugh about it afterward. Still, this is becoming one of the NBA’s most unlikely running storylines. Barber Talk, Bounce-Backs, and Big Nights Former NBA guard Brandon Jennings recently offered his thoughts on the recurring mishaps during a conversation with Gilbert Arenas during Gil’s Arena. He simply told Arenas If that happened to any of them, the barber’s getting fired. He has a valid point. As a Black man with that much money, you gotta make sure your barber knows how to handle certain things. Brown might have to wait until next summer if he plans to visit Turkey for a more permanent fix, but his play hasn’t suffered. He’s reached the 30-point mark in four of his last five games, keeping Boston’s offense humming while Jayson Tatum recovers from an Achilles injury. No Fine for Brown Even when he’s not making headlines for his hairline, Brown finds ways to stay in the news. Earlier in the week, he expressed frustration after a controversial late-game call cost the Celtics a 105–103 loss to the Utah Jazz, Athlon Sports reports. “You can’t have a mistake like that as an official at that point in the game,” Brown said (h/t ESPN). “It’s the fourth quarter, a minute left, and you completely miss the call. Cost us the game. Unacceptable.” Fortunately for Brown, the NBA later confirmed the missed foul and decided not to fine him for his postgame comments. “I guess they understood my anger,” he told The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn. Between viral hairline clips and dominant stat lines, Brown continues to prove he can take a joke while still leading a contender. His sense of humor may keep the internet entertained, but his play ensures Boston stays near the top of the standings.
