After spending the first four years of his career with the Broncos, Javonte Williams is having a career resurgence with the Cowboys. Through seven games, he has 592 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. He’s also averaging 5.3 yards per attempt and leads the league with 30 first-down conversions. It is so nice to be able to talk well about the running game again, and if the Cowboys’ offense is going to do anything on the road tomorrow against the very good Broncos’ defense, it is going to start with the running back. The Dallas offense normally takes a step back on the road, but you are going to have to test this front seven and make them pick one or the other. Stop Williams or the best wide receiver duo in football, and with Patrick Surtain, I think they are going to let Williams have a favorable box. Revenge Time Williams spent the first four seasons of his NFL career as a Bronco, after the team selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of North Carolina. In his rookie season, he would go for over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns. In year two, he suffered a knee injury with tears to his ACL, LCL and PLC. Now, he is on his way to his best year ever with the Cowboys, and with them sitting at 3-3-1, they need a win to not only help them, but prove to everyone who thinks that they are just a fun and frisky team, that they can compete with the best.
