Over the past few years, several Solana- (SOL) based platforms have gained notoriety for hosting controversial promotional challenges. Crypto streamers have gone to extremely ridiculous lengths to promote their coins — from vandalizing the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles to drinking their own urine. Now, there is a new Solana-based platform called Dare Market that lets people do any kind of stunt to go viral. "Dare anyone to do anything. Yes, for real money." The platform's manifesto read, "This is also a love letter to the people who actually try. You who risk embarrassment for a shot at being remembered (and making some goddamn money)." It claims to be the world’s first “pay-to-play” dare economy where people literally auction off their limits. Once could win $500 to eat a ghost pepper live or $500 to eat cat food. But last month, things went a little further. The sperm of three influencers got collected and got injected onto a small racetrack as a crowd gathered in the living room. Fedorovich’s sperm finished in two minutes, winning the $25,000 sperm race. The challenge, hosted by Dare Market, has already gathered millions of views on David Dobrik's YouTube channel. Crypto on Dare Market Dare Market, based on Solana, has closed a $2 million pre-seed funding round led by Karatage and Paper Ventures. On Dare Market, anyone can accept, post, or fund dares with cash or crypto that turn internet culture into viral moments that pay. Though crypto rails handle payouts on Dare Market, a user doesn't need crypto to use the platform. One can sign up with X, TikTok, or email.
