The 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh of Yuba City was booked at the West Valley Detention Center. It is being suspected that he was driving under the influence of drugs.The chain-reaction crash took place on the westbound 10 Freeway on Tuesday, and left three people dead. He was reportedly on drugs and now faces charges for vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs.A witness, who was standing by a parking lot that faces the 10 Freeway at the time of the incident, said the crash sounded like a big explosion as he recalled a red truck, allegedly driven by Singh, barreling down the freeway before the impact, according to NBC Los Angeles. “It didn’t stop. It didn’t swerve. It didn’t make any kind of maneuvers. It just went straight in,” Jason Calmelat said describing the horror.Live Events“The truck rolled and veered to the right into the embankment, and I saw the truck drive jump out because it was on fire,” Calmelat said. News outlets identify him as a 21-year-old from Yuba City, California, but his immigration details remain undisclosed amid the ongoing investigation.
