Japanese Pop Band JO1 Is Visiting India For The First Time, Here’s What We Know

J-pop fans, are you ready? Japanese pop group JO1 is all set to land in India for their very first time. The 11-member boy group, known for dominating music charts and their breathtaking live performances, is set to step into Mumbai on September 19. While most details of their visit are still under wraps, the team has expressed excitement about beginning a new chapter with their desi fans and experiencing Indian culture.
There is a catch. According to a report by Pinkvilla, not all 11 members will be making the trip. Issei Mamehara (Mame) and Shosei Ohira (Shosei) will represent JO1 during this brief visit.
The other members of JO1 include Ren Kawashiri, Takumi Kawanishi, Shion Tsurubo, Ruki Shiroiwa, Keigo Sato, Syoya Kimata, Junki Kono, Sukai Kinjo, and Sho Yonashiro.
JO1 To Explore Mumbai
As part of their itinerary, the duo will explore the streets of Mumbai, which include a tour of Marine Drive and The Gateway of India. They will reportedly attend multiple events, connecting with prominent figures from India’s entertainment and cultural sectors. As of now, no further information about their trip has been made available to the public.

Over the course of their half-decade-long career, JO1 has delivered chart-topping hits, including Tiger, Venus, Shine A Light, Love Seeker, Where Do We Go, and Move the Soul. They have also ventured into anime and original drama projects.
In the beginning of this year, JO1 embarked on their Wherever We Are Tour, which kicked off in Japan and then continued across six countries in Asia and North America between February and March. In April, the group released their first compilation album, Be Classic and in July, they released their second documentary film, JO1 the Movie: Unfinished – Bon Voyage.
JO1 is gearing up to hold its first outdoor concert to mark its fifth anniversary at the Sea Forest Waterway in Japan on October 18 and 19. They will also release their tenth single, Handz in My Pocket, on October 22.
