Jamie Oliver attributed the collapse of his restaurant empire to being “conceptually thick” and “getting the basics wrong”.
Speaking on Davina McCall’s Begin Again podcast, the TV chef explained his inability to grasp numbers contributed to the failure.
In 2019, 22 of his Jamie’s Italian restaurants closed, resulting in the loss of 1,000 jobs.
Oliver stated that while they excelled at the complex aspects of the business, they ultimately failed on fundamental principles.
