Josh Allen isn’t the only Buffalo Bills player getting endorsement deals around here.
Bills star running back James Cook is also getting a taste of the action with a new cookie that is now available at Tops Markets. The James Cookie is packed with praline-coated pretzels, crispy rice crunchies, toffee bits, white chocolate and red, white and blue sprinkles.
Tops calls it “a true Mafia mashup.”
“At Tops, our bakery team takes pride in bringing fresh, fun, and flavorful ideas to our customers, and having the James Cookie as part of our lineup is something truly special,” said Amanda Yoder, category business manager for fresh bakery at Tops. “This cookie isn’t just a treat – it’s a celebration of Buffalo pride, football, and the fans who make game day unforgettable. We’re thrilled to give our shoppers a way to share that excitement at their own tables.”
Another hometown powerhouse is behind the creation of the cookie: Rich Products, the global food company headquartered in Black Rock.
The cookie celebrates Cook’s fourth season in Buffalo and also pays tribute to Highmark Stadium, which was known as Rich Stadium – after Rich Products – when it opened in 1973 and until 1998, when the name was changed to Ralph Wilson Stadium in memory of the Bills’ founding owner.
James Cook’s star rose after signing a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the Buffalo Bills last month, including $30 million guaranteed. But he has a long way to go in endorsements if he wants to catch up with star quarterback Josh Allen, who is hawking everything from Gatorade and Pepsi to Gillette razors and natural sleep aid Natrol.
“The Mafia is the best in the league, so teaming up with Rich’s to create something designed for them is special,” said James Cook, in a statement. “The James Cookie is all about big, bold flavor that brings people together. I’m excited for fans to try it.”
