Jake Paul has spectacularly condemned Gervonta Davis in an explosive statement on X following the cancellation of their exhibition fight, which was due to take place just next weekend. The bout was cancelled yesterday, the 3rd of November, after Davis had a domestic violence lawsuit filed against him. The lawsuit comes after "Tank" was accused of assaulting a woman in a Miami strip club late last week. The fight was just under a fortnight away, originally scheduled to take place on the 14th of November as part of a live Netflix broadcast. Paul's promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, is currently working with the streaming giant to secure another date. But with Davis now facing a lawsuit, Paul will also need to find another opponent. For now, it spells disaster for MVP, as Paul and his team have been left scrambling to find another worthy opponent in such a short space of time. Jake Paul Breaks Silence on Gervonta Davis The 28-year-old influencer and professional boxer, who is currently on a six-fight winning streak, remained relatively quiet on social media over the weekend following news of Davis' allegations, but now that the fight has officially been cancelled, the confirmation seems to have opened the floodgates for an understandably furious Jake Paul. The social media personality aired his frustrations in an extensive statement, roasting the WBA world lightweight champion online. "Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage. Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits. If you support this man, you support the most vile sin a man can commit," started Paul. "I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and to grow his bank account. My company champions women. "I’m so sorry to everyone involved. Mostly to the undercard fighters, to my team at MVP, and to my team who worked so hard prepping for this fight. Sacrificing time with loved ones and kids just for this fool to lose his unintelligent mind again. It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports, including in positions of power. Any place." The Problem Child was heavily critical of Davis, suggesting that any chance of a rearranged fight in the future was dead in the water. However, the statement also implies that Paul was aware of Davis' history of violence and allegations. Gervonta Davis Previous Allegations As recently as the 11th of July, Davis was arrested on a battery charge regarding a woman who is the biological mother of his two children. Fortunately for Davis, the State Attorney’s office in Miami reported that the charges were dropped when the woman and another witness failed to cooperate. Davis was also charged in December 2022 and February 2020 respectively for two similar incidents. The 2020 charge, again, involved the mother of his daughter, with the alleged battery taking place at a charity basketball game. All charges were dropped, according to court records.
