Jake Paul drops brutal two-word take on potential Conor McGregor boxing fight

Jake Paul’s hunt for his next boxing opponent continues after the Gervonta Davis fight fell through. The pair were to meet in a Netflix boxing event on Nov. 14, but it was canceled after ‘Tank’s’ latest legal issues.Paul hasn’t wasted time and called out quite a few names, such as former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The Cleveland native created a list of names he wanted to fight a while back which featured the likes of Conor McGregor, Canelo Alvarez and Davis.‘The Problem Child’ sat down with ESPN to discuss these names. Paul was asked about Conor McGregor, the former UFC two-division champion, and one of the biggest names in the combat sports business. However, Paul had a short but brutal take on boxing the Irishman:“He's fried.”He went on to further state that the UFC legend might have retired from combat sports:"He's not going to fight again.”McGregor hasn’t fought since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. The Irishman, however, is keen to fight at the UFC White House event in 2026. ‘The Notorious’ is open to facing long-time rival Michael Chandler, but no fights have been confirmed for the grand event as yet.Jake Paul wants Alex Pereira fightIn the same interview, Jake Paul also spoke about the possibility of fighting UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. The Brazilian recently reclaimed his title by defeating Magomed Ankalaev and is keen on taking on Jon Jones. However, Paul claimed that discussions had already taken place with Pereira's team, though there was one major issue.Paul believes the UFC could be a hurdle in getting this fight done:"His team is down [to do the fight]. I think the only thing preventing it is the UFC, and if these guys can get out of their contracts to fight me. It would be a massive fight at some point, and I know he's down to make it happen."Paul does have some big wins under his belt. He defeated Mike Tyson, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley in boxing outings. However, facing Pereira could be a really tough test for the American. Pereira is in his prime and his kickboxing roots would certainly help in a boxing match.
