Jaguars Release Veteran Safety After Bengals Loss

On Tuesday Sep. 16, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced on social media that they are releasing veteran safety Darnell Savage Jr.
“The Jacksonville Jaguars have released S Darnell Savage, the team announced today,” the official roster move read.

This comes after the Jaguars came up short against the Cincinnati Bengals, giving Jacksonville a 1-1 record.
Savage first joined the NFL when he was selected with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
Since then, Savage has recorded 354 combined tackles (11 for loss), 38 passes defended, 10 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumbles recovered across 87 games, 82 of which he started.
