Jacki Weaver Joins Comedy Feature 'Trash Mountain'

EXCLUSIVE: Two-time Academy Award-nominated Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom, Silver Linings Playbook) joins the previously announced Caleb Hearon, Zooey Deschanel, Kyle Marvin, and Jaboukie Young-White in the comedy film Trash Mountain. The Hearon and Ruby Caster-written film is currently in production in Chicago. Trash Mountain follows 27-year-old gay man Gavin (Hearon), who is thriving in Chicago, when the sudden death of his father forces him back to his hometown in rural Missouri. The story takes the audience on an emotional journey as Gavin and his half-sister Abbi (Deschanel) navigate challenging family dynamics and their complicated relationships with the past. Weaver plays Grandma Helen, the matriarch of the family and mother of Gavin and Abbi’s deceased father, who was an obsessive hoarder. Distraught by the death of her son, Grandma Helen struggles to connect with her family. Lilly Wachowski (The Matrix, Cloud Atlas) executive produces, as well as Julie Lebedev and Eddie Vaisman for Sight Unseen, Carrie Holt De Lama, alongside Zachary Spicer, Chris Cafero for Five Sticks Productions, and Scott Golstein for Streeterville Productions. Colin Trevorrow is producing through his Metronome banner, which most recently released the comedy Deep Cover. Rebecca Linfoot will oversee on behalf of Metronome. Weaver is best known for her performance in the David Michôd feature Animal Kingdom (2010), for which she was nominated for the 2011 Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Subsequently, Weaver received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for David O. Russell’s The Silver Linings Playbook. On the TV front, Weaver was a lead in FX’s limited series Clipped, where she stars as Shelly Sterling, the co-owner of the Los Angeles Clippers and wife of Donald Sterling. She also had a starring role on the Apple TV series Hello Tomorrow!, in a large recurring arc in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, and in the lead role in the Australian series Bloom. Weaver is repped by Elevate Entertainment and CAA.
