Ja Rule weighs in on the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The New Yorker talked about the culture of hip-hop in a sit-down interview on Carmelo Anthony's 7PM in Brooklyn podcast on November 10, when the conversation steered into the Drake vs. Kendrick feud. He said:"You look at Kendrick and Drake, nothing good is coming out of any of these things."He compared it to the longstanding feud he has with 50 Cent, saying that it "f*cked up New York hip-hop." Ja Rule and 50 Cent have been on the outs for decades, and the two of them continue to make digs at each other. But when he was asked if he had any advice he wanted to give the Toronto rapper, he said that Drake doesn't need any pointers from him. He said:"Why I gotta advice Drake? Why can't I advise Kendrick. Drake don't need no advice. Drake is rich, got a big a** plane. Have you seen his plane? What we talking about Drake for, man? That ni**ga chilling, man."Ja Rule went on to praise Drake and even went on to compare the Toronto rapper with Michael Jackson. He said that Drake had an "unprecedented" run like the King of Pop.Ja Rule claims he outraps 50 CentJa Rule also doubled down on his decades-old rivalry with 50 Cent while sharing his opinions on the Kendrick Lamar and Drake feud on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast, and talked about having mutual respect for both rappers despite an ongoing beef.Nelly With Ja Rule And Special Guests: Where The Party At Tour (Image via Jeff Hahne/Getty Images)He acknowledged that competition is at the core of hip-hop. But according to him, it doesn't have to divide the fans. Fans are often compelled to choose sides. But he said that it's better if they appreciate the contributions that each artist brings and "celebrate artistry over allegiance." But while he suggests having a mutual respect and appreciation for both artists, he also said he outraps 50 Cent."I feel like I was the better rapper. I felt like I made the better records—I feel like my records aged better, still."But while that is what he feels, he also admits that he doesn't know if other people share the same opinions. He also reflected on recent rap rivalries, like Kendrick and Drake's beef, adding that it's the reason why he doesn't promote negativity between him and 50 Cent.Despite taking shots at each other, he said that he wishes 50 Cent "luck," although he also wants him to stop taking digs at other Black people. But while he seems to promote positivity in the rap culture, Ja Rule has ruled out collaborating with 50 Cent. He said that they have never done a record together and were never friends, so he's confused why people want to see them working together.Carmelo Anthony's 7PM in Brooklyn podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.
