The schools of Jammu and Kashmir have reopened after a long break. Earlier, authorities in the Jammu Division of Jammu and Kashmir ordered the closure of all government and private schools on September 4. Schools were closed due to heavy rainfall and weather alerts. It is to be noted that the schools were closed to ensure the safety of students, parents, and other staff members. The UT witnessed incessant rains and landslides in several hilly areas. Authorities have asked principals to check the safety of buildings before starting offline classes. Chief education officers will monitor and submit reports. Officials told the media agency that with the weather improving, the focus is now on resuming studies safely while making sure the academic schedule continues without further disruption. However, few schools conducted online classes during this period. The official statement mentioned that online classes may be conducted wherever feasible.
