Excelsior Sports Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 11: Jammu & Kashmir showcased exceptional talent at the ongoing 69th National School Games U-19 Boys Taekwondo Championship, with Shivansh Rajput and Mohit Anthal clinching Gold medals, positioning the Union Territory as a strong contender. Prikshit from Haryana also secured a Gold medal in his category. The prestigious event is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at the Indoor Sports Complex, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. In the fiercely contested -45 kg category, Shivansh Rajput claimed Gold, defeating Preet Singh of Assam. Soham Joe (Goa) and Moksh (Uttarakhand) took Bronze. In the -55 kg category, Mohit Anthal outshone Pardeep of Haryana to win Gold, while Parth Satish (CBSE) and Chinmroy (Assam) earned Bronze. In the -73 kg division, Prikshit from Haryana emerged victorious, with Gourav Singh (Madhya Pradesh) taking Silver. Other notable matches saw Kerala, CBSE, KVS, Haryana, J&K, Vidya Bharati, Punjab, and Jharkhand registering wins in their respective categories. The medal ceremony was graced by Abdul Satar, Joint Commissioner JMC and dignitaries from the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
