IU has just achieved another milestone in her illustrious career. The South Korean singer and actress’ song Love Wins All crossed the 100 million mark on YouTube. The emotional ballad, which made its official debut on the platform on January 24, 2024, quickly became one of IU’s most talked-about songs. Not just for its lyrics and cinematic visuals, but also because it featured BTS’ V, aka Kim Taehyung, as her co-star in the music video.
According to a report by Soompi, Love Wins All crossed 100 million views on September 19 at around 12:30 AM KST, or September 18 at 9:00 PM IST. It took the video about one year, seven months and 26 days to reach the 100 million mark. With this, Love Wins All becomes IU’s 10th music video to have achieved this milestone. Previously, the other music videos to reach this milestone include Palette, BBIBBI, Not Spring, Love, or Cherry Blossoms, eight, Blueming, Celebrity, Through the Night, LILAC, and Twenty-three.
What’s IU And BTS V’s Love Wins All About?
IU released Love Wins All as the lead single for her sixth Korean EP, The Winning. Written by the singer herself, the song was composed by Seo Dong Hwan, and it marks her first single as a lead artist since Winter Sleep, which was released in December 2021. The music video featured IU and V as a married couple with disabilities in a post-apocalyptic world, trying to survive while recalling memories from their happy times.
Love Wins All achieved a perfect all-kill on the South Korean charts. It reached no. 25 on Billboard Global 200 and no. 3 on the US World Digital Song Sales chart. Besides this, the song also achieved a triple crown at Inkigayo, meaning it won the trophy in three consecutive weeks on the music program.
